I have ARFID and this is the first time in my life I've really been able to explore a lot of foods. It came from early childhood food poisoning trauma and sensory issues.
I've been practicing on and off self-directed CBT for dealing with it. This is more of a log with my experiences with newer foods and things I am interested in. Earliest will be at the top.
1-11-26 I've made the decision this year that I want to eat vegetarian for at least a major part of my life. I think this restriction will make it easier for me to try new foods, and it just seems to me that it would be better if there were at least more vegans/vegetarians around. I'm making slow changes in my diet right now, currently successful in cutting out pork. My only common meat now is chicken, which I will retain until I can be completely sure I'm getting a reliable protein source. If I fail at that, I might move my goalpost to pescetarianism. I'm already comfortable eating tofu, and have been eating dishes from Tofu Hyakuchin to great success.
I've also been watching tinned fish reviews a lot lately. I don't have any particular interest in the fish themselves, but the reviewers are always such characters!
